Boston Celtics Make Roster Move After Nuggets Game
USA TODAY Sports

On Friday evening, the Boston Celtics hosted Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in Massachusetts.

The game was extremely close, but the Nuggets were able to come away with a 102-100 victory, which gave the Celtics their first home loss of the 2023-24 NBA season.

Before the Denver matchup, the Celtics assigned rookie Jordan Walsh to the G League.

The former Arkansas star played in Friday's game between the Maine Celtics and Sioux Falls Skyforce (the Celtics lost 116-112).

In 34 minutes of playing time, Walsh had 18 points, eight rebounds, one steal and one block while shooting 7/18 from the field and 2/10 from the three-point range.

Following Friday's loss to the Nuggets, the Celtics have now announced (on Saturday) that they have recalled Walsh back to the NBA.

The 19-year-old has played in one NBA game so far this season.

With the loss to the Nuggets, the Celtics fell to 32-10 in their first 42 games, which still has them as the first seed in the Eastern Conference.

They are 6-4 over their last ten games and 20-1 in the 21 games they have hosted in Boston.

Following the Nuggets, the Celtics will now face off against the Houston Rockets on Sunday evening in Texas.

The Celtics have been to the Eastern Conference Finals five times over the previous seven seasons, but they have been unable to win an NBA Championship since 2008.

Last year, they lost to the Miami Heat in Game 7 of the Conference Finals.
